Pathé Metropolis is a Pathé cinema at Kleine-Gartmanplantsoen 15-19 in Amsterdam, 40 meters from Leidseplein and diagonally reverse De Balie.
The cinema is situated within the Metropolis Theater Constructing, a theatre constructing in 1935. Initially, it was arranged with a single massive theatre corridor. The primary movie to run of Episode by director Walter Reisch starring Paula Wessely. Within the Nineteen Fifties, Metropolis was a well-liked leisure district. The emphasis was on MGM and Disney movies. The cinema had entry to an orchestra pit with the Metropolis Theater Orchestra that offered music previous to the movie beneath the route of conductor Lex van Weren.
Cinema chain Pathe has been the proprietor since 1995. Initially 2007, the construction was closed for a significant renovation. The final common screening passed off on 31 January 2007 and from 18 to 25 April 2007, the cinema hosted the twenty-third Amsterdam Improbable Movie Pageant. The doorways reopened on December 2, 2010, with seven rooms for arthouse movies.
